Mount Tahoma, meaning Mother of Water, the name given by the Coast Salish tribes of Duwamish, Nisqually, Snoqualmie, Suquamish, Muckleshoot, and Puyallup. In the last 200 years, land in the United States had been systematically taken from the Native Americans and their names and traditions throughout the region have been overwritten. Please sign the petition below to honor and dignify the rightful return of the name of this mountain, if not the land, to it's origins. https://chng.it/ftj4mkjvKS
